Hanersun has recently obtained certification under Italy’s latest fire safety standards, EN 13501-1 and EN 13501-5, for its HITOUCH N and HITOUCH B module series. As one of the first companies in the industry to complete certification under the updated framework, the achievement highlights Hanersun’s proactive response to evolving EU fire safety requirements for distributed PV systems, while further strengthening its compliance capabilities and competitive position in the European market.

As safety and reliability requirements continue to rise across Europe’s solar sector, Italy’s updated Fire Prevention Guidelines for Photovoltaic Systems officially came into effect on September 1, 2025. The new framework marks a shift from the previous UNI 9177-based national assessment system to the EN 13501 series, aligning more closely with European fire classification standards and introducing a more systematic evaluation of PV modules and their fire performance in real-world system applications.
Under the updated framework, EN 13501-1 focuses on the reaction-to-fire performance of PV modules, particularly their flame-retardant behavior during the early stages of fire exposure. EN 13501-5, meanwhile, evaluates the performance of roofs and roof coverings when exposed to external fire, providing a critical reference for rooftop PV safety in real application scenarios.
The certified HITOUCH N and HITOUCH B series both feature double-glass encapsulation, offering strong advantages in weather resistance, impact resistance, and fire safety performance. Following rigorous testing, the modules were confirmed to meet the relevant classification requirements of both EN 13501-1 and EN 13501-5. The dual-standard certification confirms strong product-level safety and reliable fire protection in complex system applications.
